Spring 2009 FRP Paddle Pick-Up Event Details
All,
The Flint River Paddlers' Spring Paddle Pick-Up will take place (in
conjunction with the Flint River Watershed Coalitions Spring Pick-Up
event) on Saturday May 9th. We will be meeting at Mitson Landing at
7:30 AM to drop off all of the boats, sign waiver forms and distribute
supplies. We will then take as many vehicles as possible to the River
View Park Downtown Flushing while one person stays behind to watch the
gear. After taking as few vehicles as possible, but required to
transport everyone back to Mitson, we will paddle (and pick-up as much
trash as possible) to Downtown Flushing. The Flint River Watershed
Coalition will be providing lunch to its volunteers (including our
group) in Downtown Flushing at 12:00.
We are trying to get a solid list of all volunteers prior to Wednesday
May 6th. Anyone who wants to participate and either has their own
canoe, kayak, flat bottom row boat, or other river worthy craft, or
can borrow one, is encouraged to contact me ASAP. We are also looking
for additional flat bottom row boats or similar craft that we can tow
behind us to carry as much trash as possible. If you have a boat that
would work for this or know of anyone who does that would be willing
to let us use it for the Pick-Up if they are not able to attend,
please let me know this as well.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions,
concerns or to discuss further.
Yours in Paddling,
Eric M. Hall
