Fall Paddle Pick-Up

The Fall Paddle Pick-Up is scheduled for Sunday October 26th. We will be doing the section of the Flint River from downtown Flushing to the Flushing Township Nature Park just north of Mt. Morris Road, with special emphasis on the island just past the Flushing Park footbridge where there is a bottleneck. I will be contacting both the city of Flushing and the Flushing Township Nature Park to work on getting help with trash disposal and other aspects, but I want to make sure that we have a good commitment from our members and other volunteers before we move forward. I apologize to the few people who went to the last paddle pick-up at the time that was on the website as I made a mistake there, and appreciate the fact that you did come anyway. However, I want to ensure that we do not have as low of a paddler number as we did in the spring. Will you be able to 100% commit to being at the Fall Paddle Pick-Up to work as a volunteer? If so please contact Eric Hall via e-mail or at 810-423-4774 asap. If you have access to a canoe, a flat bottom boat, or even an inflatable raft (anything that can hold larger volumes of tash than a kayak) please plan on either bringin it to tow or paddling it so that we can pick up as much trash as possible. Flint River Watershed Coalition Pick-Up Volunteer T-Shirts will be available for those who volunteer. If you are able to offer any other form of assisstance that I have not thought of, please feel free to call me so we can discuss further.
